Alright, guys, so I had this crazy idea to remake a Prada Cleo bag. You know, the one that’s like, super popular right now? I saw a bunch of these bags online, but I was like, “Nah, I wanna try making one myself.” So, I jumped right into it. No experience, just pure guts and maybe a little bit of stupidity, haha.
First, I needed to find some materials. I hit up a few local stores, looking for something that looked and felt like the real deal. It wasn’t easy, I tell ya. I mean, who knew there were so many different types of leather? I ended up grabbing some black leather that felt pretty good, and some shiny silver stuff for the hardware.

- Searched for the inner lining material
Next, I had to figure out how to actually put this thing together. I watched a ton of videos online – not necessarily for this specific bag, but just general bag-making tutorials. I learned a lot about stitching, cutting, and, you know, making sure things don’t just fall apart.
The hardest part, hands down, was the shape. The Cleo bag has this unique curved design, and let me tell you, getting that right was a pain. I tried a few different methods, wasted a bunch of leather, and almost gave up like, ten times. But I kept at it, and eventually, I managed to get something that resembled the iconic curve.
I also spent a good chunk of time trying to get the Prada logo right. I ended up hand-stitching it, which took forever, but honestly, it was kinda therapeutic. Plus, it turned out pretty darn good, if I do say so myself.
Stitching and Assembling
After cutting all the pieces, I started stitching. My sewing machine was my best friend during this whole process. There were moments where I thought the needle was gonna break, or I’d mess up the whole thing, but I pushed through. Slow and steady wins the race, right? I even added a little pocket inside, ’cause who doesn’t love extra pockets?
Putting the whole bag together was like solving a puzzle. I pinned, sewed, and prayed that everything would align. And guess what? It did! It actually started to look like a bag. My bag!
The Final Touches
Once the main body was done, I attached the hardware – the buckles, the zipper, all that jazz. This part was relatively easy, compared to the rest. I made sure everything was secure and shiny. Then came the strap. I decided to go with a simple, adjustable strap, nothing too fancy. And boom, the bag was basically done!
Honestly, the whole process was a rollercoaster of emotions. There were times I wanted to throw everything out the window, and times I felt like a total boss. But in the end, I created something I’m actually proud of. It’s not perfect, of course. There are a few flaws here and there, but hey, it’s my own handmade, almost-Prada Cleo bag. And that’s pretty cool, right?
It might not be an “original order” quality, but you know what? I made it, and that’s what matters. It’s a bit rough around the edges, but it’s got character. Plus, I learned a ton along the way. Who knows, maybe I’ll try making another one someday. Or maybe I’ll just stick to buying bags. We’ll see, haha!
