Okay, so I was looking for a new watch, and I stumbled upon this OMEGA Co-Axial Master Chronometer Chronograph 45.5mm thing online. I gotta say, it looked pretty darn impressive. But I wasn’t gonna just jump in without doing some digging first.
First off, I started poking around to figure out what this “Master Co-Axial Chronometer” thing even means. I found out that it’s basically OMEGA’s way of saying this watch is super accurate and can resist magnetic fields up to 15,000 gauss. I don’t know what that means, but it sounds like a lot! It’s like they took a regular “Co-Axial” and put it on steroids, apparently there are Master Co-Axial Chronometer, and Co-Axial Master Chronometer, seems like they are doing a lot to tell people that their product is good.
Then, I started comparing it to other OMEGA watches. I looked at the Seamaster Diver 300m Co-Axial and the newer version, which is the Co-Axial Master Chronometer. It’s like comparing a good car to a freaking race car! The newer one has some upgrades and improvements. I think I’d better save some money to buy this new version.
I also learned that OMEGA is planning to make most of their Co-Axial watches Master Chronometer certified by around 2020. That’s good news because it means they’re taking accuracy really seriously. These watches have to go through testing by both COSC and some other place called METAS. That means it can give you the industry’s highest standard.
Stars!
The watch also took inspiration from the stars, I guess it makes this watch more cool and fashionable.
Lots of gold and steel!
The price is pretty steep for these watches. I saw a yellow gold version of the Constellation Meteorite for 35, and a stainless steel one for 9. This brand also has a lot of Meteorite series, I think this brand is doing something to attract the customers.
Finally, Decided to get one.
- Looked up “OMEGA Co-Axial Master Chronometer Chronograph 45.5mm” online.
- Got confused by the “Master Co-Axial Chronometer” thing.
- Figured out it means super accurate and anti-magnetic.
- Compared it to other OMEGA watches.
- Realized the newer versions are even better.
- Learned about OMEGA’s certification process.
- Decided to buy one.
So, yeah, that’s my story of how I ended up buying this OMEGA watch. It was a bit of a journey, but I think it’ll be worth it. I’ll let you know how it goes once I actually get it on my wrist!
