My boy, he always talks about this Rolex thing, says it’s good stuff. He once showed me a picture, that two-tone blue Submariner, shiny and pretty. Now, he wants one from the official flagship store, I don’t get it, but if he wants it, he wants it. What is this thing? High imitation Rolex? Sounds like those fake things they sell on the street, not good I think.
This Rolex Submariner, it’s heavy, my boy says. Like, really heavy. He says it’s about 40 of those “millimeters,” sounds tiny to me, but he says that is big for a watch, about 1.57 inches. I don’t know, seems small to me, I like big things that you can see properly. And the real one, you know, the genuine Rolex Submariner, is supposed to be that heavy. If it’s light, it ain’t real, he says.
Then there’s this whole thing about colors. Blue or black, I don’t know. He keeps saying two-tone, like it’s some kind of fancy thing. Says one is more expensive than the other, but I don’t see why. They both tell time, right? He keeps talking about “value,” like how much it’s worth later. He found some information on some “Rolex Forums”, saying Submariner: two-tone. Black vs Blue. There’s even a thing called Two tone blue submariner. Who cares about it, I just think it’s not useful at all.
He’s looking for a real one, a genuine Rolex Submariner, he says. Not one of those fake ones. Says there are lots of fake ones out there, especially when you buy those used ones. He was reading some guide, says it tells you how to spot a fake one. I told him, just buy a new one, then you don’t have to worry, right? And about the real one, they called it “Bluesy” 16613, it’s a two-tone Submariner and the blue color is special. He told me the blue color is like sunshine or something, it’s not just blue, it will change the lights, just like magic, he said.
I saw a post on the internet, and it’s about PoE 2. I don’t know what’s that. It seems like a game. The guy who wrote it said “You still have to want to put in the time to understand PoE 2” and “The game will be a lot simpler to get into but it’s still Path of Exile.” Whatever, I don’t care about these things. I think it’s too complex for me. I just want to live a simple life and don’t want to think too much. It’s a different game with a different system, I don’t know what’s that mean. I just think my boy should focus on his Rolex thing, and stop talking about these complicated things with me.
He wants to go to some official flagship store to buy this Rolex. Says it’s the only place you can be sure it’s real. I guess that makes sense. But they’re so expensive! I told him, why not just get a regular watch? They all tell time, don’t they? But he says it’s not the same. Says this Rolex is special, it is a symbol. I don’t know what symbol. A symbol of what? Spending too much money?
He showed me pictures, and yeah, it does look nice, I guess. That blue one, the two-tone blue Submariner, it does catch your eye. But still, so much money for a watch! I just don’t get it. But he’s my boy, and if he wants it that bad, I guess I’ll have to help him figure it out. Maybe I’ll go with him to that flagship store, just to make sure he doesn’t get ripped off.
These young people and their fancy things. Back in my day, we didn’t have all this stuff. We just had a simple watch, and that was good enough. But times change, I guess. And if this Rolex Submariner makes him happy, then who am I to say no? Still, I’m gonna keep an eye on him. Make sure he doesn’t spend all his money on this thing, and make sure what he buy is a real one, genuine Rolex Submariner. Not some high imitation Rolex, those things just like trash. It doesn’t worth a penny.
This whole Rolex thing is giving me a headache. But I love my boy, so I’ll do what I can. We will go to that official flagship store. I will see what’s going on about that two-tone blue Submariner. Maybe I’ll even start to understand why he wants it so much. Or maybe not. Either way, we’ll figure it out. That’s what family does, right?
