Well, let me tell you, I saw this thing the other day, this watch. They call it a CopyOMEGA Speedmaster Chrono Chime. Fancy name, huh? Sounds like something from one of them space movies. Now, I ain’t one for fancy things, but this one, it got my attention.
They say it’s a “classic style,” whatever that means. To me, it just looks like a watch, but a real shiny one. Like the ones them rich folks wear in the city. This CopyOMEGA, I guess they’re tryin’ to make a good watch, but not a real OMEGA, you know? They say it’s for them “collectors.” You know, the ones who got more money than sense, buyin’ up all sorts of things they don’t need.
This Speedmaster thing, it’s big, too. 45 mm, they said. I don’t know what that means, but it looked big on the picture I saw. Bigger than my old clock on the wall, that’s for sure. And it’s got all these little dials and buttons. Lord knows what they all do. Probably tell you the time on the moon or somethin’.
And the price! Don’t even get me started on the price of these things. I hear they cost more than my whole house. Can you believe that? For a watch! I guess the CopyOMEGA Speedmaster Chrono Chime ain’t that much. It’s still a lot of money, though. More than I’d ever spend on somethin’ to tell the time.
- This CopyOMEGA thing, it’s got somethin’ called a “Calibre 1932.”
- Sounds like a gun or somethin’, don’t it?
- They say it’s complicated. I bet it is.
- Probably takes a rocket scientist to figure it out.
I heard them say it’s the “most complicated” one they ever made. Who needs all that complication? Just tell me the time, that’s all I ask. And maybe the date. I always forget what day it is. This CopyOMEGA Speedmaster Chrono Chime, though, it probably tells you the phases of the moon and when to plant your tomatoes. I wouldn’t be surprised.
Now, they got this other one, they call it the “numbered edition” CopyOMEGA. It’s even bigger, I think. 45.5 mm. And it’s made of gold. Not real gold, mind you, but somethin’ they call “Sedna Gold.” Sounds made up to me. But it sure is shiny. Like a gold tooth, but bigger. And probably costs more than a whole mouthful of gold teeth.
I seen folks sellin’ these things on that Catawiki. Whatever that is. Some kind of online market, I reckon. Like that eBay thing, but fancier, maybe? They’re buyin’ and sellin’ these watches like they’re goin’ out of style. Which they probably are, knowing how fast things change these days.
This CopyOMEGA Speedmaster Chrono Chime is somethin’ else, I tell ya. It’s like somethin’ from another world. All shiny and complicated. Not for me, though. I’ll stick with my old watch. It might not be fancy, but it tells the time just fine. And it didn’t cost me an arm and a leg. Or a house.
- They say this CopyOMEGA Speedmaster is for “serious collectors.”
- I guess I ain’t serious enough.
- Or rich enough.
- Probably both.
But hey, if you got the money, and you like that sort of thing, then go for it. Buy yourself one of these CopyOMEGA Speedmaster Chrono Chime watches. Wear it around town. Show it off. Just don’t come cryin’ to me when you can’t figure out how to work it. Or when you need to sell it to pay your bills.
Me? I’ll be here, watchin’ the world go by, with my trusty old watch on my wrist. It might not be a CopyOMEGA, but it’s mine. And that’s all that matters. It’s a classic, just like they say, but a real classic, not like that fancy CopyOMEGA Speedmaster Chrono Chime thing.
These young folks today, they’re always chasin’ after the newest, shiniest thing. They don’t appreciate the simple things in life. Like a good, reliable watch. Or a good cup of coffee. Or a nice, quiet evening on the porch. Nope, they gotta have all the bells and whistles. Even if they don’t know what the bells and whistles do. Like that CopyOMEGA, with its fancy name, and its gold, and all them little dials. It’s just too much, if you ask me.
This CopyOMEGA Speedmaster thing, it’s just a watch. A very expensive watch. But still just a watch. Don’t let them fool you with their fancy names and their big words. It all comes down to the same thing: tellin’ the time. And you don’t need to spend a fortune to do that. You just need a good, honest watch. Like mine. A simple, classic style. Not like that CopyOMEGA.
