Well, this Silver Snoopy Award, it’s like a prize NASA gave to OMEGA. See, that OMEGA Speedmaster watch, it helped them astronaut fellas back in the day. Expensive Thing, This Snoopy Watch
I heard folks talkin’. Said this Silver Snoopy Award watch is worth a whole heap of money. More than I ever seen, that’s for sure! Some fella said it’s like, $18,250! Can you believe that? For a watch! My old clock at home ain’t worth but a few dollars, but it tells time just fine. But I guess, this OMEGA Speedmaster is special, bein’ a 50th Anniversary Snoopy Speedmaster and all. It’s also called Speedmaster Silver Snoopy Award, I don’t know why they got so many names for one watch.
They made a bunch of these Snoopy Speedmaster watches a couple of years back. October 5th, 2020, I think it was. They’re all gone now, though. Unless you find someone willin’ to sell theirs, and I bet that’ll cost ya. They only made so many of the 45th anniversary ones, 1970 of ’em, I heard. That’s the year of that award, you see. This 50th one is a bit different. It’s not limited, they say. They got some fancy name for the insides, “OMEGA Co-Axial Master Chronometer Calibre 3861.” Whatever that means.
Why All the Fuss About a Watch?
Now, I don’t get all the fuss. It’s just a watch. But some folks, they sure do love their watches. They collect ’em, like I collect them little porcelain birds.
