I wanted to make a Patek Philippe Gondolo 7042/100G-010, the one you see in the official flagship store. It’s a fancy watch. So, I started by looking at what I needed.
First, I got the basic stuff. I got some stainless steel, the 316 and 904L types. It’s the stuff they use for lots of watches. I made sure to get a case that was 31mm by 34.8mm. That’s the size of this Patek Philippe model. I made sure to get a white gold case. I also got the bezel ready. It’s the ring around the watch face. This one is called “fluted” and can turn both ways. Sounds complicated, but it wasn’t too bad.
Next, I worked on the watch face, or the “dial.” I decided to go with a bright black and intense white color. I didn’t have diamonds like the original. If I had diamonds, I would have embedded them into the dial. But the steel looks pretty good, too. Then I got a strap. I chose a pearl white gold one. It looks classy and matches the watch case.

The movement was the tricky part. This watch has a “manually-winding mechanical” movement. That means you have to wind it up by hand. I found a movement that fit the case. After some careful work, I put it all together. It was tough, but I managed to make it work. You can wind it up, and it keeps time. Just like the real thing.
Checking Everything
Finally, I looked at the details. I checked the serial numbers. They are like codes that tell you about the watch. I put some fake serial numbers on the case back and the movement. It makes it look more official, you know? But don’t get any ideas, these are just for show. Even though the original has diamonds along the bezel and lugs, mine doesn’t. But honestly, it still looks awesome.
So, yeah, that’s how I made my own version of the Patek Philippe Gondolo 7042/100G-010. It wasn’t easy, but it was a fun project. I learned a lot about watches and how they’re made. I might not have all the fancy diamonds, but I’m pretty proud of what I did.
