Okay, so, I’ve been eyeing the Prada Arqué bag for a while now. I finally decided to go for it and remake one myself. I mean, who doesn’t love a good designer bag? But the price tag? Not so much. So, I rolled up my sleeves and got to work.
First things first, I headed to the internet and checked out the official Prada website, just to get a good look at the real deal. It’s a smooth, crescent-shaped bag. It looked simple enough, right?
Next, I needed some material. I found calf leather in local market. I picked out a nice big piece – smooth grain, just like the original. I also grabbed some gold-tone hardware because, you know, details matter.
Now, onto the actual crafting part. I started by sketching out the shape of the bag. It’s kind of like a half-moon, pretty straightforward. Then I cut out the leather according to my sketch, making sure to leave some extra for the seams.
- I sketched out the shape on paper first.
- I carefully cut the leather pieces.
- I assembled the main body of the bag.
I sewed the pieces together, which took some time. I’m not exactly a pro with a needle and thread, but I managed. After that, I attached the top handle and added the adjustable shoulder strap – that way, I can wear it however I like.
The finishing touch was the hardware. I fastened it onto the bag, and honestly, it really brought the whole thing together. It looked pretty darn close to the Prada one, if I do say so myself.
I did it! This is the bag I made!
So, there you have it. My DIY Prada Arqué bag. It wasn’t easy, but it was definitely worth it. I got the bag I wanted without breaking the bank. Plus, I can now say I made it myself, which is pretty cool.
