Okay, here’s my blog post about my experience with a high imitation Rolex GMT-Master II.

So, I’ve been eyeing the Rolex GMT-Master II for a while now. I mean, who hasn’t? It’s a classic. But the price tag? Ouch. It’s way out of my league. That’s when I started looking into replicas, or as some call them, “high imitation” watches. I did some digging and found this one that claimed to be an “original order” replica of the GMT-Master II.

Now, I’m no watch expert, but I’ve done my fair share of window shopping, and I know a thing or two about what to look for. I took the plunge, and when it arrived, the first thing I did was check the stack of the hands. I remembered reading somewhere that the order of the hands can be a tell-tale sign of a fake. On a real Rolex GMT-Master II, the hands should be stacked from bottom to top: Hour, GMT, then Minute. And guess what? This one had it right!

  • I also looked closely at the bezel. The colors were vibrant, and the transition between the two colors was pretty darn seamless, just like the real deal.
  • The cyclops lens over the date window also seemed to have the right magnification.
  • The bracelet felt solid, and the clasp had that satisfying click when it closed.

I wore it around for a few days, and honestly, I was impressed. It kept time well, and it felt good on my wrist. I even got a few compliments on it. Of course, I didn’t pretend it was a real Rolex. I’m not about that life. But, it did give me a taste of what it would be like to own the real thing.

I know some people are totally against replicas, and I get it. But for me, it was a fun little experiment. I got to experience the look and feel of a luxury watch without breaking the bank. Plus, it made me appreciate the craftsmanship of the real GMT-Master II even more. Maybe one day I’ll be able to afford the genuine article. But until then, I’m pretty happy with my “original order” replica.

I also took a look at some other watches, like the Omega Seamaster Planet Ocean and the Tudor Black Bay GMT. They’re cool and all, but they just didn’t scratch that GMT-Master II itch, you know?

But, I saw a real fake Rolex GMT-Master 126701 BLRO once. It was really close to real one. But, I’m not a pro, so I couldn’t tell you what made it accurate.

Anyways, that’s my story. Hope you enjoyed my little adventure into the world of high imitation watches.
